The kitchen-dining room passage was enlarged to a cased opening with fir columns, similar to those connecting the other living spaces in the house. Kitchen and covered porch were reconfigured in order to allow for a new set of exterior glass doors. The cabinets are cherry with maple panels, counters are laminate with cherry edging and tile backsplash, and the floors are reconditioned fir.
